WHAT KIND OF BEVERAGES CAN I PREPARE WITH MY MACHINE?
Gran Lattissima allows the preparations of 6 different recipe options: A cappuccino is characterized by a milky coffee topped with a thick layer of milk froth. A latte macchiato is a recipe in which coffee is poured into a glass full of frothed milk. A flat white is an espresso coffee to which a generous amount of hot slightly frothed milk is added. A caffè latte is a long coffee to which a generous amount of hot slightly frothed milk is added. You can also prepare a relaxing hot milk or top up your coffee with milk froth.
WHICH PARTS OF MY COFFEE MACHINE CAN I PUT IN THE DISHWASHER?
Do not put any machine components into the dishwasher, except the Rapid Cappuccino System components (6 components in total), drip tray, cup support, drop collector and used capsule container. Always check if the component is dishwasher safe before putting it into the dishwasher.
HOW CAN I CLEAN THE RAPID CAPPUCCINO SYSTEM IF A DISHWASHER IS NOT AVAILABLE?
When a dishwasher is not available, the Rapid Cappuccino System components can be washed by hand. After disassembling the Rapid Cappuccino System, rinse away carefully any milk residue with hot potable water. Remove all the visible dirt with a sponge. Soak all components in with hot potable water (40°C /104°F) together with mild or soft detergent for at least 30 minutes and rinse thoroughly with hot potable water. Clean the Rapid Cappuccino System components with mild or soft detergent and rinse with hot drinking water. Do not use abrasive material that might damage the surface of the equipment.
WHEN DO I NEED TO DESCALE MY MACHINE?
According to your consumption profile as well as the water hardness you have set in the machine, the machine will trigger a descaling alert visible on the top of the machine. To optimize descaling intervals and keep a machine well serviced for optimal in cup quality, we highly recommend setting the machine with the water hardness you have at your place. If your consumption profile is made mostly of coffee&milk beverages, the descaling alert will come earlier than if you do only coffee.
HOW DOES THE EASY RINSING SYSTEM WORK?
At the end of each recipe preparation, The Clean alert illuminates to invite you to clean the Rapid Cappuccino System, through its easy rinsing system. Place a container under the coffee outlet, and turn the milk froth regulator know to Clean position. Milk system rinsing process starts and hot water combined with steam flows through the milk spout. The rinsing process stops automatically. When the rinsing process is finished, the clean alert is resumed. Put back the knob to Froth position.
ALL COFFEE BUTTONS AND ALL MILK RECIPE BUTTONS FLASH ALTERNATIVELY. WHAT SHOULD I DO?
Your machine is overheating. Wait until the machine cools down.
THE QUALITY OF MILK FROTH IS NOT UP TO STANDARD. WHY?
We recommend you to use skimmed or semi-skimmed cow milk at refrigerator temperature (~ 4°C / 39.2°F). Do not use frozen milk. Ensure that the milk froth regulator knob is on Froth position. Use the easy rinsing system after each milk preparations. Ensure the air aspiration part is clean. Ensure all the components of the Rapid Cappuccino System are well assembled.
WHAT DOES 19 BAR MEAN?
All the Nespresso machines are equipped with a 19-bar pressure pump, which provides the power needed to pierce the film of the capsule and release the coffee’s 900 or so different aromas. The shape of the Nespresso capsules has been specifically designed to ensure that the pressurized water flows evenly through the ground coffee during extraction. The temperature and flow time are also set to ensure that each precious aroma is expressed.
