Great when it works

We bought this machine less than a year and we are on our second replacement. This time customer service recommended to change the replacement to a better machine. Vertuo Next nespresso line seems to have issues with the pump system, reading the codes or just everything. I am just grateful that nespresso’s customer service is amazing. I recommend getting a vertuo deluxe plus or other higher models.

Rarely works, needs replacement often.

When it works it's great; but unfortunately it rarely works. We run a cleaning cycle every Sunday, and still it constantly malfunctions. It'll stop working in the middle of pods, it'll stop working when it's reading a pod, it'll just stop sending water through the pod while the coffee is brewing, it'll get halfway through a pod and shut down, and then finally we left it alone for a week and it won't power back on. Second defective model we had. We spoke to folks at a local store and they said that they've heard lots of customer complaints about the Vertuo next not working properly and having lots of failures, so we'll work with them on an exchange to a different model.

I got the machine for Christmas last year and it has continued to leak out of the front for the last 6 months. I use it only every 2-3 days and this issue (that seems quite common) came on rather quickly. I’ve descaled and cleaned as recommended and still no luck. Very disappointed as I was so excited about my luxury coffee machine.

Worked great for a year. Got it for Christmas. Has a one year warranty… isn’t that convenient. Feels like it doesn’t read some coffee pods but reads others. I suspect it’s being phased out similar to how Apple try’s to phase out old models. It’s a hunk of junk now. Wish I never switched from Keurig.

Disappointing machine, unreliable

Very disappointed in our nespresso virtuo. Didn't last 2 years, and wasn't used enough to be broken already. Unit needs to be cleaned every time we use it lately and as of today it won't work even after cleaning cycles it still flashes clean light. Unit has a 1 year warranty but the brand and cost implies that the machine should last a little longer.

If you love Nespresso and you’re thinking about upgrading from original line to vertus line, DO NOT BUY THIS MACHINE!! That was my situation two years ago. My first machine lasted nearly a year and then stopped working despite maintenance every time the light said it was time to clean/descale. To their credit, Nespresso replaced the machine. Another year later, the new machine is having the exact same problem. This time, Nespresso keeps giving me the run-around. To be honest, I think at this stage, they know this machine is horribly defective and they don’t want to acknowledge it.

Worst Nespresso Machine

I've gone thru 3 Next machines, each one had issues and Nespresso was kind enough to keep sending replacements. After the 3rd machine failed, I'd had enough and asked to replace it with an Evoluo, which I own 2 of and have had no issues. Well, they made a mistake and sent me another Next and guess what, it doesn't work. You are supposed to run thru the clean cycle twice when you first get it and it would not even do that. I then tried to make a cup of coffee and to no surprise, it would not brew the coffee. I've wasted so many pods, almost 2 cartons so far because the Next machine is a piece of junk. Do NOT buy this machine. It is the worst Nespresso machine out there.

DeLonghi Vertuo Next BAD Machine!

Bought the Vertuo Next after enjoying Nespresso at my sister's house. Learned L8r there are 2 manufacturers (Breville & DeLonghi); ours being made by DeLonghi (the styles between the 2 are slightly different). After 2 months of struggling with leaks, constant "unable to recognize pod" errors, constant rinsing after 3 or 4 pods to try to recognize pods, small water reservoir, clean up the leaks, empty very small used-pod container before the copious excess coffee leaked therein overflows... it's just a bad machine. 2 stars because on the rare occasion it DOES recognize the pod, it makes delicious Nespresso coffee. Boxing it up & bought a Vertuo Plus by Breville.

I've had problems with the Vertuo Next since I bought it two months ago. From the descaling issue to now where I can't even factory reset it, the white light just stays on and it doesn't do anything no matter how many times I unplug it. Nespresso is really good coffee, however this machine in particular has poor reliability.

Quieter machine

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This machine was much quieter than my older model. The latching mechanism is a little difficult when people come visit. There is a small learning curve with how to latch the machine to start the coffee.

The best pod style coffee maker

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been using this for several weeks and am still impressed with the quality of this machine. The pod is sensed by the machine and makes adjustments to the brewing depending on the style. If you like expresso without the hassle of brewing it, this is the machine. I usually buy the 7.7 oz pods for a full size coffee and program the machine to fill my cup fully. It's quiet and brews in less than a minute. My only complaint is that there is little to no aftermarket pod support for this so you probably won't find your favorite coffee for this but after using this for a while, the Vertuo pods are some of the best you can get.
