Yes. The life of a coffee capsule doesn’t end when you finish sipping your favourite cup of Nespresso. We use aluminium for our coffee capsules as it is a naturally-occurring metal. Aluminium as a material can be repeatedly recycled without losing its properties. Every Nespresso capsule that is recycled goes on to have a second life. The aluminium is sent for smelting and refining and the refined metal can then be used for a wide range of products, from homewares and bikes to computers and cars. Meanwhile, coffee grounds are sent to a local composting facility to be used in compost fertiliser.
