What is a milk frother?

A milk frother turns flat milk into foam by aerating the milk, creating a thicker, creamier texture in the process. This foamy milk is used to create some of the world’s most popular coffees, from cappuccinos and lattes to iced coffees and flat whites. Do I need a milk frother?

You can use all kinds of milk, too – our milk frothers will produce a consistently high-quality foam whether you prefer full, lower-fat or non-dairy milk.

What is the best type of milk for frothing?

Traditionally, full-cream dairy milk has been considered the best for frothing because it allows you to create a thicker, creamier foam than other milk. Because lower-fat milk is lighter, it often produces larger air bubbles when frothed, making it an ideal choice when you’re making a cappuccino or a foamy iced coffee.

Non-dairy alternatives such as soy, almond, and oat milk can also be used in a milk frother. Just be aware that the depth, thickness and creaminess of the foam will vary between milk types – the foam from oat milk, for instance, will evaporate quicker than with dairy.

Should I use hot or cold milk?
