We received this machine as a replacement. Great choice made by the tech support. We had an older model vertuo that stopped working. Once we found out it was unrepairable, we were given a choice of another with 40% off.

I bought this machine to replace my flat head version which stopped working after 3 and a bit years. I'm very happy with the lever mechanism. People who have injured hands or arthritis or such can still operate it easily, whereas the twist lock is a bit more demanding on the hands. The only thing I would like to see is an option to program a custom volume for use with any pod (any size) at any time without affecting the standard bar code volumes. Maybe just a way to program it so you put your pod in and push down on the lever to get the custom set volume? The normal button would be for normal use still. Very happy so far with the new machine, and after 4+ years of the Nespresso experience. And the service is also very good.

At this time, you can hold the button until you reach your desired coffee length, but all subsequent coffees of the same size will be brewed at the new volume and would need to be reset if you wish to return to the original setting.
