How do I adjust the coffee volume setting? What is the maximum amount that can be dispensed?

Adjusting the coffee volume setting is easy. Simply, press the Espresso or Lungo button and hold it for at least three seconds. The machine is now in programming mode. The light will flash quickly and the coffee will begin to flow. Release the button when the coffee reaches the required level.

What is the little black panel on the front of the machine?

The little black panel is a sensor that monitors how much milk is in the milk container. The sensor ensures the machine automatically stops frothing once the milk container is empty.

Can I put the milk container in the dishwasher?

The milk container comprises five parts and is easy to disassemble. All of these parts can be put in the dishwasher.

Is it possible to select a recipe while the machine is heating up?

Yes it is. Simply, press the coffee button of your choice and the machine will prepare your selected recipe once it has heated up.

What is Nespresso credit?

Nespresso credit is the monthly amount that you receive on your account after payment of the monthly amount for your coffee subscription. The amount of your monthly Nespresso credit is equal to the monthly amount you pay for your coffee subscription. You are free to spend this credit on coffee, accessories, or delicacies through the Nespresso website, via the app, in one of our Boutiques, and through our telephone customer service.

When can I order my coffee with my Nespresso credit?

Within 2 working days after we receive your payment, we will credit the amount to your Nespresso account. From that moment on you can use the credit to place an order.

What happens if I do not (fully) use my Nespresso credit?

The Nespresso credit that you do not use remains valid for 2 years after it is added to your Nespresso account. All unused credit accumulates.

What happens if I do not have enough credit for my order?

You will automatically pay with your credit. If the amount of your order is higher than the remaining credit, you will pay the remaining amount using one of the available payment methods.

The Aeroccino3 that comes in combination with the Citiz makes firm, full-body and creamy milk foam. Perfect results of the milk foam can be achieved by using cold (between 4 to 7 degrees Celsius), whole, UHT cow's milk.

More about different types of milk and plant-based milk

Do you prefer a different type of milk in your cappuccino or latte? Although perfect results are only guaranteed with UHT full fat cow's milk, you can certainly experiment! For example, we have experienced good results with barista versions of plant-based drinks/milk replacements, such as oat drink (oat milk), soy drink and pea drink. Fresh cow's milk can also froth nicely with the milk frother of the Essenza Mini & Aeroccino, but keep in mind that the composition of fresh cow's milk can change seasonally because it is a natural product. The change in composition can lead to varying results in frothing the cow's milk. The same applies to skimmed and semi-skimmed (fresh and UHT) cow's milk due to reduced amount of fat and protein compared to UHT whole cow's milk.

1. 3 serving options, indicated on the milk container: espresso macchiato (20ml), cappuccino (60ml) and latte macchiato (120ml). MAX level is 165 ml for even bigger milk recipes.

2. Pour the exact amount of milk into the container: all the milk will be used. Press the MILK button to prepare an espresso milk recipe.

3. After 1 preparation, detach the top of the reservoir and refill the milk for a second preparation.

4. The CLEAN cleaning alert lights up 30 minutes after preparation and blocks the milk system, so you can clean the milk components.
