Volluto - décafféiné
or not?
Volluto - décaféiné
Volluto or Volluto Decaffeinato

As sweet
as a Volluto

  • Sweet and light

Delightfully sweet and smooth, Volluto Decaffeinato has
the same rich flavours and round body as the
    Grand Cru Volluto.

  • Origin

Volluto Decaffeinato is a pure blend of decaffeinated
Arabicas from Brazl and Colombia with cereal
    and fruity notes.

  • Roasting

The pure Arabica beans from South America are roasted
lightly and separately to reveal the sweet biscuity,
    fresh and fruity notes.

  • Aromatic profile

    Cereals, fruity notes, balanced

to tell the difference?
Arpeggio - décaféiné
Arpeggio or Arpeggio Decaffeinato

As intense
as an Arpeggio

  • Intense and creamy

Dark roasted and rich in flavour, Arpeggio Decaffeinato
boasts the strong character, intense body and delicious
cocoa notes of a Grand Cru Arpeggio.

  • Origin

A selection of the best Arabicas from Brazil and Costa Rica
with intense cocoa-like hints and a South American
washed Arabica with indulgent fruity notes.

  • Roasting

A long roasting yields a darker bean and releases the strong
cocoa notes of the Brazilian and Costa Rican Arabicas.
A shorter roasting of the Arabica from South America highlights its softer, fruitier notes.

  • Aromatic profile

    Cocoa, dark roasting, intense

this is not a decaffeinated;
it is a decaffeinated Grand Cru
Vivalto Lungo - décaféiné
Vivalto Lungo or Vivalto Lungo Decaffeinato

Vivalto Lungo

As balanced
as a Vivalto Lungo

  • Complex and balanced

A complex yet balanced blend, Vivalto Lungo Decaffeinato has the same
rich character as the original Vivalto Lungo Grand Cru: roasted, slightly woody with
sweet cereal and subtle floral notes.

  • Origin

Vivalto Lungo Decaffeinato is a blend of decaffeinated Arabicas
from several origins including Colombia and Ethiopia.

  • Roasting

A shorter and lighter roast preserves the floral bouquet of the Ethiopian beans
and the fruity notes of the Colombian, while a darker and
    longer roast develops its bitterness.

  • Aromatic profile

    Floral, roasted, fruity notes

Nespresso's decaffeination process
A process which repescts
the environment and your health

Nespresso uses two expert methods to decaffeinate
its three new decaffeinated Grands Crus.
These expert methods ensure we look after our customers'
health and the environment, while preserving the character
of the bean so we can offer a rich, aromatic profile. Discover the three key steps that make up
this decaffeination process:

The beans are soaked in water
which they absorb. This makes
the bean swell.

Swelling the bean
makes it
easier to extract
the caffeine.

Two methods are used depending on the coffee bean

Water extraction or CO2 extraction
The caffeine is
dissolved in
The water is purified using
an activated carbon filter that
traps the caffeine.
The water is
then used again
on the next
coffee beans.
Liquid CO2 is forced
into the bean at pressure
to extract the caffeine.
The caffeine and the liquid CO2
separate and the liquid CO2 is
then used again on the next
coffee beans.

Now decaffeinated, the beans are dried until the humidity level
is back to normal and they are then ready for roasting.

To ensure a high quality taste in the cup, our Grands Crus Decaffeinato use this natural
decaffeination process which respects the character of the bean, leaving the power,
variety and richness of its aromas untouched.
