I don't know what people are complaining about, probably just user error, but this machine is great and the variety of coffee it makes is simply amazing! The coffee tastes great whether made into lattes, iced lattes, or just plain coffee! Highly recommended with the aeroccino 3 frother! Goodbye starbucks!

I have had the Vertuo Next for almost a year and I really enjoy it, especially the pour over coffee. I use it daily. The only issue I have had with it was running the descaling process. It is overly complicated and I had have someone from customer service walk me through because the directions don't make sense. Reading all the negative reviews and knowing how much trouble the descaling process gave me, I think Nespresso could save themselves a lot of bad reviews by simplifying that process. Otherwise it is a great machine I love the variety of coffees I can make.

Received this machine as a Christmas gift last year and only had it for about 10 months now and i have nothing but malfunctioning issues. The machine will never finish brewing a full cup of coffee, troubles getting it out of descaling mode, the top spinner needle is always getting stuck, coffee always comes out cold and now and the power is declining....love the coffee when the machine worked correctly for about 2 months i guess.

Excellent coffee, Taking extra precautions

We purchased this unit about 3 months ago and have had no issues as of yet and the machine continues to perform extremely well. I was a bit nervous having ordered the Vertuo Next to only later read so many negative reviews. I purposely waited a few months before posting this review to make sure that it continued to perform and we weren't seeing failures like others have been reporting. That being said, we do baby our machine, more so than I think the average user would. We make sure that our water reservoir is never empty and that we only use bottled water (5gal from the local grocery). The tap water, even filtered tap water, has a lot of contaminants that can cause premature failure of the machine. Routine cleaning around the lid where the pod is placed is absolutely required, otherwise, a ring of dried coffee will form and eventually cause leaks. Descaling on a regular basis will also help, unfortunately the instructions provided with the machine are not the clearest to follow nor is the actual procedure that user-friendly. Overall this is actually a very nice machine, I think that with proper maintenance and clean water that this machine will last quite some time. The quality of the coffee from Nespresso and the engineering behind their machine in my opinion produce the best cup of coffee without breaking the bank.

I bought this about a month ago--after "upgrading" from my original Vertuo machine. After only 3 uses, coffee is spurting from the top into the side tray (where the capsules fall into), and none of the espresso has any crema whatsoever. I know that this is not user error, as I had no problems at all with my previous machine. I am going to see if I can replace this machine with the original Vertuo.

3rd Machine in 10 months :(

While I love the Nespresso coffee....I'm on my 3rd machine since December 2020. My original first machine lasted 5 months. The replacement machine sent by Nespresso only lasted 1 month. Now on to my 3rd machine and it too stopped working after a month and a half. All 3 machines have had a similar issue - - flashing orange light, inability to make coffee, leaking in to the capsule reserve. I would love to continue to be a Nespresso customer but it's getting exhausting having to get replacements every few months.

Stopped working after 2 weeks

This machine stopped working after two weeks. It had a solid light and no troubleshooting made it work. It’s hilarious what is written on the nespresso website for this issue and it seems that this issue is quite prevalent and without an obvious root cause besides being a defective machine in general with a high failure rate. Vertuo is great except not the VertuoNEXT. Get any other model. I returned mine and got the VertuoPLUS instead (which is a much better design anyways).

This machine connectivity sucks, can’t keep it paired. As I try to hit the button nothing happens, ones I open to see after about 30 seconds I get blasted with hot water.

Although the customer service is great, this particular machine is awful. I received my original machine in early July. I am now on the third replacement machine and it stopped working today, as well. Apparently this is a horrible machine and other Nespresso options are better.

I rarely write reviews but now that my 2nd Next machine has died, I would like to warn everyone to not buy this machine. Within less than a year, I had one die then was sent a replacement that died in less than 2 months after receiving it. Both would not brew and blink orange twice and the second one started to leak after every two cups (before it died). Fortunately, customer service has been fantastic and is sending me another model but to avoid any frustration I would strongly suggest purchasing another vertuo machine.

I wish I had heeded the many negative reviews on this machine. This is the third Nespresso machine I have bought and it is terrible, abysmal, a complete waste of money. If I had bought this machine first, I would never have thrown it out and never looked at Nespresso again. It frequently dies in the middle of making coffee; I have wasted many pricey nespresso capsules because of this. It makes very little crema compared to other models. Finally, the taste of the coffee it produces is off compared to the older models. If you are wondering which machine to buy, AVOID this one. I love Nespresso coffee, I loved my old machines, so please don't take this as a criticism of the company. Just avoid this dud of a machine.

I purchased the Vertuo Next in July. It did not heat up the water properly so I returned it for another Vertuo Next machine which I received in September. That machine lasted one month and now will not brew coffee. It will flash orange and flood the capsule container with coffee. Customer service was wonderful and have said they will replace this machine with another line. I told them I do not want the Vertuo Next even though it is the newest line. It simply doesn’t work well.

The coffee is great… as long as you can get it to brew anything. The yellow/orange double blink of death as taken my second Vertuo Next machine to the graveyard in under a year. But have no fear Nespresso customer service is amazing. They are sending out a new machine to replace this one. The customer service is really kind and empathetic to a completely uncaffeinated lunatic such as myself who they are unlucky enough to answer the phone for. Kudos for great customer service!

Would love it forever but machine keeps on dying

My first machine stopped working after 4 months. Customer service was very helpful and sent me a replacement right away. However even the second machine died after 3 months. Really heartbroken because I love the machine so much! For my third machine, I opted for the vertuoplus. Everything is good so far but sad that it's not compatible with the carafe pod.

I love my Vertuo Next machine! Haven't seen the inside of a coffee shop since I got this. Just make sure to read the manual so you're maintaining your machine in good condition. It's absolutely worth the price and I would recommend it to anyone.

We’ve been through a few of these after several returns. It constantly has problems or stops working altogether. Now, it makes only small size coffees and doesn’t work for larger ones.

I bought this Nespresso and thought the coffee tasted great but am on my second machine in 2 weeks. I am going to need a new one again because after 1 week, the machine empties the entire water tank into my coffee cup and shakes and spews water everywhere. Disappointing

I got the first next machine December 2020, it leaked water everywhere and had a lot of coffee grounds in the cup of coffee. Called tech support was wonderful, sent me another machine and it lasted 3 days before getting the flashing red lights. Called again and they offered a different machine, the original. I hope that one works better. I have had the original citiz machine for 9 years with no problems, I sure hope the original vertuo can last as long.
