What cup sizes do Nespresso Original pods make?

Original pods are designed for classic coffee sizes:
Ristretto - 25 ml
Espresso - 40 ml
Lungo - 110 ml
Some Original coffees pair especially well with milk-based recipes when used with an Aeroccino or milk-frothing machine.

Do Original pods come in different intensities or decaffeinated options?

Yes. The Original range offers a wide spectrum of intensities, from smooth and mellow to bold and powerful. Several decaffeinated coffees are also available across espresso and lungo styles.

Are Nespresso pods recyclable and how do I return them?

All aluminium Original pods can be recycled through Nespresso's dedicated service. You can book a free recycling collection, drop used capsules at a Nespresso Boutique, or use one of the many drop-off points across the UK and Ireland.

Can I order my coffees on subscription with Nespresso?

Yes, you can sign up to the Nespresso coffee subscription service through the Nespresso website at any time. It allows you to receive regular deliveries of your favourite coffees on your own terms.

Which pods are compatible with my Vertuo machine?

Vertuo pods are compatible only with Nespresso Vertuo coffee machines. Choose from Barista Creations, assortments, decaf and many more options. The Vertuo design includes a unique barcode that your machine reads to set the ideal extraction for that blend. What is the difference between a Nespresso Vertuo and Original machine?

Nespresso Original and Vertuo coffee machines each carries unique benefits. The main difference is the brewing technology: Vertuo uses Centrifusion technology to brew coffee, creating a rich crema, while Original uses high-pressure extraction. Vertuo offers multiple cup sizes from espresso to carafe, whereas Original focuses on espresso and lungo sizes.

Nespresso Original coffee machines use a 19-bar high-pressure extraction system, just like traditional Italian espresso machines. The technology assures each coffee is topped with a dense and luxurious crema that preserves the notes and aromas of each coffee capsule.

With its barcode technology, Vertuo coffee machines offers an extremely high level of precision. The system recognizes each coffee capsule, then adjusts the brewing parameters – such as temperature, crema, flow, rotation speed and water/coffee contact time – to deliver the best results in every cup.

Which coffee blends can I use with a Vertuo machine?

Vertuo machines are compatible exclusively with Nespresso Vertuo pods. Available in over 30 coffee blends, each one crafted from a blend of our sustainably sourced roast and ground coffee. In creating your perfect cup, choose from permanent coffees, Limited Edition releases and seasonal flavours, in a wide variety of styles and sizes to suit every taste.

Can I buy a Vertuo machine with a milk frother?

Vertuo Creatista and Lattissima coffee machines are built with integrated milk carafe and integrated steam wand technology. Alternatively, you can purchase the Aeroccino milk frother separately to complement your machine, perfect for preparing creamy lattes and cappuccinos and other home recipes made with ease.

What size coffee pods do Vertuo machines take?

Vertuo machines brew a variety of coffees in up to 7 cup sizes: Ristretto (25ml), Espresso (40ml), Double Espresso (80ml), Gran Lungo (150ml), Mug (230ml), XL (355ml) and Carafe (535ml). Each size is designed to deliver the optimal amount of coffee for your desired beverage.
XL and Carafe are compatible with Vertuo Creatista, Lattissima, Next, POP and POP +.

How do I clean my Vertuo machine?

To clean your Vertuo coffee machine, regularly empty the used capsule container, rinse the drip tray, and descale the machine every 3-6 months using Nespresso's descaling kit. Are Vertuo coffee machines available on a subscription plan?
