Completely stopped working at 5 months.

We received a Vertuo Next machine as a wedding gift and absolutely loved it for approximately 2 months. And then we didn’t. At first it started doing to the death blinking where you have to factory reset the machine several times before it would work probably again. The first couple of times it happened the machine would continue to work fine for another 2 weeks before the process had to be done again. And then it happened progressively more often until one day it just wouldn’t turn on. We spent hundreds of dollars on coffee pods that are now useless. It also leaked from the time we got it. That wasn’t a huge deal when it was working properly but is definitely more annoying combined with the fact the it’s completely stopped working. I’m only writing this review because after doing extensive research it seems that this is a very known issue WITH THIS SPECIFIC MODLE and I don’t understand why they are still selling it.

This machine is horrible. Nonstop issues with the blinking orange light no matter how much I cleaned, descaled or even used distilled water. 2nd Nespresso machine and I am so bummed I switched to this one... Such a disappointment and only lasted 1 year.

I bought this product three months ago and was so excited. After a month of semi-regular use, we began to have issues. Now the machine needs to be factory reset every time we want to make an espresso. Not to mention it is extremely loud. We will be replacing this with another machine, please do not waste your money on this one!!!!

I use mine everyday and I love it! It is a very simple machine, there is only one button so it is very easy to use. I previously had a Keruig and the one feature I miss is that you could brew “nothing”, and it just spit out hot water. The nespresso doesn’t brew unless there is a new pod in it. Not a huge deal, but it was nice to have the option if I wanted hot water for tea, etc.

Lasted just over a year and died. Was out of warranty so its in a landfill now. Not an issue with red or amber light. Started making a very loud squealing noise like the bearings were going. Eventually it froze up and would not spin the pods.

I’ve had this machine now for 2 years. Recently the top light started blinking and thought that meant it needed descaling. Started the process and all the water started leaking out of the bottom of the machine! What a mess! Will contact support but with this being out of warranty, pretty sure it will end up in the recycling center!

Not a great design

I am a long time Nespresso owner and loved it so much that I bought a smaller one to use at work. Big mistake. There are some design issues that are a problem. First: the latch is extremely difficult to use requiring quite a bit of force to press it down and secure it. Second: the cup shelf is small and does not fit a regular sized coffee cup, in fact they slide right off. Simple solution would be to remove the shelf and put the cup on the table top. Wrong. The bottom of the unit has a small rim that does not allow you to put the cup right next to the machine, causing it to sometimes dispense coffee onto the counter and not directly into the cup. Third: when closing the lid you many times get the red light of death, which means you have to unplug it and start again. Save yourself headaches and opt for a larger one.

This honestly makes the best in home coffee ever, however, I am now on my third machine in less than three years. The cleaning and descaling process is confusing and tiresome. Do better with your machines Nespresso!!

Bought this machine 3 months ago. Makes great coffee. Does need to be cleaned regularly which is no problem. The low star rating is due to the extremely difficulty to open and close latch. Been trying ti figure out why my thumb is sore and bruised. It’s from injury due to this machine. The machine should not require so much force to to make 2-3 cups of coffee per day.

The worst

This one is awful. Fails after a few months. Been thru multiple units. Not sure why they still sell it. It doesnt work half the time and when it finally does it leaks coffee all over the place from the bottom. Running the weekly rinse cycle and descaling regularly doesnt prevent it from malfunctioning. I stayed on top of it after the first one failed but it still had the same problems. AVOID!

First I have to admit I love the Nespresso pods more than other brands. The Vertuo Next machine is beautiful but just beautiful. I received mine as a gift two years ago but just used it at home once a while as most of time I drink coffee in the office. it starts leak after one year and since then I have to waste almost half tank of water to brew one cup of coffee now. I called the customer service to troubleshoot it but didn't work. I wonder why they can't make better machines to keep the valued customers, my Tassimo has been working over ten years but Vertuo Next can't last over two years, check the reviews before you buy it!

I LOVE the speed of the maker, the variety of coffees available, the recycling aspect of the pods, and most of all - my iced coffee does not taste watered down! The frothing (without milk) that happens at the top of the coffee is golden. I can't believe I went this long without one.

Don’t recommend the next. Had a lot of problems over the last two years- Software issues, pump issues (x2), latch very difficult to close latch. Machine has always been replaced with no cost, but have spend several hours on the phone with support.

I've had this for a year it worked well until it completely stopped responding after a descale. Nespresso's only solution was to replace in a less desirable color/finish. Not only do I have to ship the broken machine back, but the replacement machine has a 6 month warranty instead of the 1 year of the original machine. I'm sure the replacement will also prematurely cease to function. Don't expect this machine to last.

After a years worth of use it started leaking and trouble shooting didn’t help. As well as weekly cleaning. It was amazing up until this.
