STRONGER THAN CLIMATE AND POLITICAL ISSUES

REVIVING ORIGINS is our long-term program in which we partner with farmers to restore coffee regions.

The world almost lost Zimbabwe's coffee to climate and political issues. Farmers, like Jesca, joined Nespresso's REVIVING ORIGINS program with a plan to bring it back, and since the project has started, we've seen more than 400 farmers join the program, production increase by 7% and quality of the available coffee improved by 51%. Together with strong partnerships, we're restoring Zimbabwe's coffee industry in the long-term, one harvest at a time.

Sustainable Coffee icon

TAMUKA MU ZIMBABWE is still very limited, but each year we'll bring you more of this rare treasure that sings with a bright acidity and complex fruitiness full of notes of red berries, currants and cranberry.

ORIGIN
Zimbabwe’s high mountains and cool temperatures make it ideal for growing coffee. Back in the 1990s when the country’s production peaked at around 15’000 tons of coffee, its quality was said to rival Kenyan coffee. It must have been Zimbabwean Arabica’s zesty acidity and rich berry flavors. But economic instability coupled with climate change crippled the coffee sector. The negative impact of price volatility and crop shortages all conspired to bring the production level down.
ROASTING
TAMUKA mu ZIMBABWE gets a split roast. The first split is light and short – it brings out the sweetness in the coffee. The second split is a dark and long roast – it helps balance out the tastes and aromas and give the coffee its smoothness.
AROMATIC PROFILE
TAMUKA mu ZIMBABWE is bursting with complex fruitiness and a zesty bright acidity. You can catch notes of everything from cranberry to red berries, and currant to grape.
