The Nespresso intensity scale ranges from 1 to 13, with lower numbers indicating a milder flavour profile and higher numbers representing a bolder, more intense coffee experience. This scale is based on a combination of factors, including the coffee’s roast level, body, and bitterness. The Starbucks® by Nespresso for Vertuo intensity scale also uses a similar range but is tailored to reflect the characteristics of Starbucks® blends that are overall being more dark roasted, with an intensity scale varying from 5 to 12.
