COLLABORATING FOR A POSITIVE IMPACT

Every capsule, every material, every product has the potential to be something more. Embracing new ways to repurpose and give a second life.
Introducing a unique brand collaboration that captures the essence of the Middle East's rich artistic heritage, Sarah's Bag and Nespresso present the first upcycled product in the region. The centerpiece of this collaboration is an exquisite clutch, meticulously handcrafted. 75-80 recycled Nespresso aluminium capsules were used on the floral design of the clutch turning it into a stunning work of art.

Sarah Beydoun is a Lebanese designer and entrepreneur who redefined luxury fashion by seamlessly merging social impact, craftsmanship, and contemporary design.
As the visionary behind Sarah’s Bag, she built for the past 25 years one of the Middle East’s first global fashion houses with a social enterprise model, empowering underprivileged women through artisanal work while celebrating Levantine heritage and using primarily dead stock materials from various suppliers around the world as they are highly conscious of their production process and only produce based on demand and specific orders to avoid overproduction.
Sarah's Bag aligns perfectly with Nespresso, as both brands embody a profound commitment to care; care for the environment and a dedication to making a positive social impact.
Care for the environment: At Nespresso we started recycling in 1991 by setting up dedicated recycling systems with local partners. Through the years we have been able to expand this system across our markets and move towards a circular mindset, giving a second life to our aluminium capsules – and the coffee grounds contained within. For Nespresso, this means rethinking the use of all our raw materials, from coffee to aluminium, so they can begin a second life, as part of a regenerative economy.
Care for social impact: For more than 30 years, Nespresso has been putting sustainability at the heart of everything we do. It is our conviction that coffee can be a force for good because it can shape communities and preserve landscapes for the better, leaving a positive impact on the lives of people and nature.
We understand the impact on local farming communities and their livelyhoods especially in coffee production and coffee sustainability, and we know that advancing gender equality can have a significant impact on coffee quality and productivity and the livelihoods of coffee farming communities.

Each clutch is a labor of love, as a team of eight skilled women dedicate up to 15 hours to create this masterpiece with subtle quirks that only come from being made by hand and with unique material. The process begins by thoroughly cleaning the capsules and flattening the aluminium, which is then skillfully shaped into delicate sequins. These intricate pieces are then meticulously embroidered into a floral design, showcasing the beauty of recycled Nespresso capsules. The silver interior shows in the petals, while the original capsule colors subtly shimmer underneath, creating a captivating reflection.
This hand crafted iconic and timeless clutch bag uses 75-80 recycled Nespresso aluminium capsules. Turning each capsule into sequin to create a unique flower of paillette.
