Recycling of aluminium – one of our top priorities

We are one of the seven founding members of the Aluminium Stewardship Initiative (ASI) and aim to promote sustainable aluminium production and to comply with the ASI standards without exceptions. As the recycling of aluminium is much more environmentally friendly than the new production, we are always looking for new innovative ways to make the disposal of Nespresso capsules as easy and convenient as possible for you. Therefore, the capsules of the ORIGINAL coffee system can already be added into the recycling cycle in different ways: Whether yellow bag, yellow bin or dispensing at Nespresso boutiques in your area - you decide which way is the right one for you. In addition, the return of the Nespresso capsules can also be made via recyclables or a recycling centre. Thanks to these opportunities, the return capacity of used aluminium capsules in Germany is at 100 percent - for more than 20 years already!
In cooperation with the stationery manufacturer Caran d'Ache from Switzerland, we use recycled aluminium to turn the used Nespresso capsules into a simple, yet stylish ballpoint pen made of recycled aluminium. The results are new design objects – made out of used coffee capsules!
