Fresh & cold

Milk should be as fresh and cold as possible (milk close to expiring will not froth well).

High protein

Protein content should be high as protein allows milk to froth. Shake the carton before attempting to froth to evenly distribute the proteins.

Stiff or silky foam?

Low fat milk creates dry, stiff foam and high fat milk creates wet, silky foam. Your choice.

Milk alternatives

Cow's milk works best - conventional or organic. Alternative milks can be tried, but there is no guarantee that they will froth like cow’s milk.

Please ensure that the Aeroccino XL is cleaned immediately after each use. If using the dishwasher, place all components except the base in the dishwasher at a maximum of 70°C, making sure not to place the container directly on the rack as this may cause damage to the inner layer of the container.
If you choose to clean the appliance by hand, remove the base container and clean the inner container, seal, lid, whisk and mixer with detergent and rinse with warm/hot water. Do not use abrasive materials that could damage its surface and do not submerge it completely in water. Make sure the underside of the milk frother is dry before placing it back on its base.

The preparation of hot milk or cold milk foam takes about 80 sec. In the case of hot milk, the preparation time is approximately 150 sec. These values can be influenced by different factors, such as the nominal power that can fluctuate throughout the day, the number of consecutive preparations or the cleaning level of the container.

The main differences are as follows:

The Aeroccino 4 has an additional option for hot milk foam, ideal for cappuccino recipes, whereas to prepare hot foam with the Aeroccino XL, the whisk must be removed.
The Aeroccino XL has a single button for all recipes.
The Aeroccino 4 is equipped with a handle for easy handling.
The Aerrocino XL has a capacity of 225 ml for milk foam and 400 ml for hot milk.

So far, so good! I was hesitant to purchase because of the price but I had already spent nearly as much on multiple replacements of those cheap handheld frothers. I love that this frother also heats, is dishwasher safe, and is VERY quiet. I have seen a 'hot spot' appear recently with a filmy patch of scalded milk, but it did not change the flavor of my milk, and it doesn't make the cleaning any more difficult. I'm not worried about this at all, as I'm sure it's simply an inconsequential result of the varying milk options available these days (different source animals, nuts, sugar additives/exclusions, protein additives/exclusions). I've had my Essenza Mini for nearly 8 years and have never had an issue, so I know this device will last just as long!

Love it. XL size is great for multiple coffees or hot chocolate or chai milk or large cups without milk spilling over the sides (the original size machine didn’t handle mug size portions) Looking forward to using the iced milk option for iced coffee. creamy smooth aerated milk. rinses easily with no burnt milk skin on base if you use cold milk, rather than room temperature milk and wipe machine clean after each use. Recommend it.
