What is upcycling?
We call upcycling the transformation of objects or residual materials to give them a second life as handicrafts or works of art.
Why aluminum?
Economical and ecological, recycling and reusing aluminum requires up to 95% less energy than producing primary aluminum in the first place. One huge advantage: aluminum can be recycled endlessly.

Pauline
Loctin
About the artist
An origami specialist, Pauline creates murals, suspended lighting, and even custom stage props and costumes for many brands and international institutions.
The art of respecting the environment
When Pauline creates her pieces with eco-responsible materials, you can watch the work take shape before your eyes – the result is spectacular.
Nature wastes nothing. Everything is reused and recycled to create a new cycle. We knew the end result would convey this message when we commissioned Pauline Loctin to create origami pieces made from responsibly sourced paper.
Every crease and fold is an expression and a feeling that I want consumers to feel when they see my art.

DOING IS EVERYTHING
The shapes and colours, and the representation of natural elements beautifully express the reuse of Nespresso coffee grounds in high-quality compost produced by local farmers. The reuse of coffee grounds inspired our artist. This Nespresso initiative is helping to close the cycle in order to preserve nature’s beauty and lushness.

Briony
Douglas
About the artist
Her larger-than-life sculptures always convey a commitment message. No better way to express Doing is everything than our commitment to sustainable development and circularity.
Hope for the planet
Briony works with the aluminum from used Nespresso capsules, coffee grounds and other environmentally-friendly materials to create artwork that expresses hope for the planet.
With elements of surrealism and pop culture, Torontonian Briony Douglas’s unique visual art stands out on the international scene. Her spectacular presentations never go unnoticed, which is why we chose her to create a work of art with used Nespresso capsules.
When I am working on a project with an environmental theme, every element of the work must be 100% respectful of nature.

DOING IS EVERYTHING
Briony's concept highlights the endless possibilities for recycled aluminum. With this creative recycling, our simple capsules magically transform into delicate butterflies that, for many cultures, are symbols of rebirth, change, renewal and hope.

Other elements drawn from nature complete the structure to express the infinite circle of rebirth – the message at the heart of Briony's work.
