How to make iced coffee at home

Recipes and tips on creating the best cold caffeine kick

Nothing quite compares to the cool, refreshing and creamy taste of a delicious iced coffee when the warm weather arrives. With summer approaching, we’ll show you how you can turn your Nespresso machine into your very own iced coffee maker and discover a whole new world of icy cold caffeinated drinks at home.

Iced coffee recipes

There’s a lot more to experience than just cold milk mixed with a coffee shot. Here are some of our favourite iced coffee recipes, so easy and simple that you can enjoy whenever you like, wherever you like.

Milk and spiced coffee

Foamy, icy milk mixed with all of the spices of the delicious Ristretto coffee.

Ingredients:

  • 2 capsules of either Ispirazione Ristretto Italiano or Ispirazione Ristretto Italiano Decaffeinato (to produce 80 ml of Espresso coffee)
  • 4 tablespoons of crushed ice
  • 150 ml of cold milk
  • Ground cinnamon, nutmeg or chocolate shavings

Materials:

  • Tall recipe glass (350 ml)
  • Aeroccino milk frother

Method:

  1. Add the crushed ice into your recipe glass
  2. Extract the 2 Espressos (80 ml) into the recipe glass and add sugar if desired
  3. Pour the milk into the Aeroccino and hold down the button for three seconds (until the light turns blue) to create cold froth
  4. Add the milk to the iced coffee and top with a few spoonfuls of froth
  5. Sprinkle with cinnamon, nutmeg or chocolate shavings to finish
  6. Serve immediately

Iced Cappucino

A subtle twist on this delicious classic.

Ingredients:

  • 1 Nespresso capsule Ispirazione Firenze Arpeggio or Ispirazione Firenze Arpeggio Decaffeinato
  • 2 ice cubes (2x30g)
  • 100 ml of ice cold full fat milk
  • 4 g of sugar (1 stick)
  • A pinch of chocolate shavings

Materials:

  • 1 Recipe view glass
  • Aeroccino (cold option)

Method:

  1. Add sugar and spices into the glass
  2. Extract 1 capsule of Ispirazione Firenze Arpeggio or Ispirazione Firenze Arpeggio Decaffeinato (40 ml) over the sugar and then mix
  3. Pour the milk into the Aeroccino and hold down the button for three seconds (until the light turns blue) to create cold froth
  4. Gently pour the cold milk froth over the coffee
  5. Sprinkle with chocolate shavings

Iced Latte

Simple elegance with a chill.

Ingredients:

  • 2 Capsules of Ispirazione Ristretto Italiano or India in espresso (40ml)
  • Cold milk
  • Ice cubes or crushed ice
  • Recipe glass

Method:

  1. Prepare 2 capsules of Ispirazione Ristretto Italiano or India in espresso (40ml)
  2. Pour cold milk in the recipe glass
  3. Pour the coffee over it
  4. Gently add the ice

Nespresso on ice

Strong and refreshing flavours perfectly suited to a hot Summer’s day.

Ingredients:

  • 1 Nespresso capsule
  • 3 ice cubes (3x30g)
  • 90ml of cold water

Materials:

  • 1 recipe glass

Method:

  1. Add 3 Nespresso ice cubes to your glass or 90g of ice cubes
  2. Extract 40ml of your Nespresso coffee on top
  3. Add 90ml of cold water, then stir
