What does 19bar mean?

All the Nespresso machines are equipped with a 19-bar pressure pump, which provides the power needed to pierce the film of the capsule and release the coffee’s 900 or so different aromas. The shape of the Nespresso capsule has been specially designed to ensure that the pressurized water flows evenly through the ground coffee during extraction. The temperature and flow time are also set to ensure that each precious aroma is expressed.

How often do I need to descale my machine?

Our machines are equipped with an ‘OFF mode’, which means that the machines turn themselves off when inactive to minimize energy use. To check how to manually switch off the espresso machine as well as information on the settings for automatic switch off, please refer to the user manual that came with your Nespresso machine.

What is an americano recipe?

To prepare an americano you need to prepare a ristretto, 25 ml, in a large cup or glass of 170 ml. Once you have extracted your ristretto pour over 125 ml of hot water.

What is an americano XL recipe

To prepare an Americano XL recipe you should use an espresso, 40 ml, in a large cup or glass of 210 ml. Once you have extracted your espresso port over 160 ml of hot water.

How do I switch my machine off?

Our coffee machines are equipped with OFF mode, which means that they stop on their own when inactive for 9 minutes to minimize energy consumption. To check how to manually switch off the coffee machine as well as information on the settings for automatic shut-off, please refer to the user manual that came with your Nespresso machine.
