The collected used capsules are brought to INDECO, our local recycling center in Ilfov county. Here, we separate the coffee grounds from the capsule.
Each capsule we recycle can give life to a new product. And thus, we ensure the circularity of the materials we use and are closer to our vision of providing memorable experiences to coffee lovers.
Aluminum
Aluminum is a 100% recyclable material and can be reused endlessly.
From each recycled coffee capsule other objects can be formed that you will encounter every day – for example other capsules, bicycles, lighters, chairs, pens, window frames or watch cases.
Coffee grounds
Once separated from the aluminum, coffee grounds can be reused in ever more innovative ways.
Today, you can find it in fertilizers for rice plantations or in fertilizers for viticulture. It can also be converted into renewable energy, such as biofuel for buses.

Are original Nespresso capsules made from recycled aluminium?
Nespresso capsules require a certain type of aluminum. The availability of recycled aluminum of this type is very low.
