ICE INTENSO is specially designed to be enjoyed over ice for a delicious cold coffee experience. The dark roasted South American and Indonesian Arabicas express their intensity of aroma and flavour when poured over ice to create a boldly refreshing coffee drink. Best served as: 1 coffee capsule (40ml) over a handful of ice cubes (90g) and top it up with cold water or cold milk (90ml).

That’s why Nespresso Professional has a new coffee to be enjoyed in a perfect harmony over ice: ICE INTENSO.

STRAIGHT OVER ICE

  • 1 ICE INTENSO capsule (40 ml)
  • 3 ice cubes (90 g)
  • 90 ml cold water

Materials

  • Nespresso Professional coffee machine
  • View Recipe Glass

How to make this recipe?

  • Step 1

    Add 3 ice cubes to your glass.
  • Step 2

    Pour 40 ml of ICE INTENSO espresso over the ice cubes.
  • Step 3

    To extend the treat, add cold water (90 ml).

  • Step 1

    Add 3 ice cubes to your glass.
  • Step 2

    Pour 40 ml of ICE INTENSO espresso over the ice cubes.
  • Step 3

    Add cold milk (90 ml) and stir well.

ICE INTENSO CAIPIRINHA​

Ingredients

  • 1 ICE INTENSO capsule (40 ml)
  • 4 ice cubes
  • 60 g fresh lime
  • 8 g brown sugar (2 sticks of Nespresso Brown Sugar)
  • 1 fresh lime slice
  • 3 ml (1 teaspoon) sugar cane syrup
  • 60 ml cold water (can be replaced by sparkling water or tonic)

Materials

  • Nespresso Professional coffee machine
  • View recipe glass
  • View teaspoon (size L)

How to make this recipe?

  • Step 1

    Put pieces of sliced lime together with brown sugar in a glass and mash.
  • Step 2

    Add sugar cane syrup.
  • Step 3

    Insert 4 ice cubes and pour 60 ml of cold water (can be replaced with sparkling water or tonic).
  • Step 4

    Stir with a spoon.
  • Step 5

    Prepare an espresso (40 ml) of ICE INTENSO coffee on top.
  • Step 6

    Garnish with a slice of lime.

    TRY THE ALCOHOLIC VERSION:
    You can replace 60 ml of water with 40 ml of Cachaça (Brazilian rum) and 20 ml of water.

NESPRESSO TONIC​

Ingredients

  • 1 ICE INTENSO capsule (40 ml)
  • 3 ice cubes (90 g)
  • 90 ml tonic

Materials

  • Nespresso Professional coffee machine
  • View recipe glass

How to make this recipe?

  • Step 1

    Put 3 ice cubes in a glass.
  • Step 2

    Add tonic to three-quarters of a glass.
  • Step 3

    Prepare an espresso (40 ml) from ICE INTENSO coffee on top.

    TRY A FRUIT VARIANT:
    Pour 5-10 ml of fruit syrup (with the bittersweet taste of the tonic beautifully combines syrups with the taste of citrus, flowers or forest fruits). You can decorate the recipe with pieces of fresh fruit. Try grapefruit, raspberry or lavender and enchant your guests.

Peru & Indonesia Arabicas
ROASTING
Not every coffee tastes as good as when extracted over ice. We hunted long and hard until we hit upon this blend of Arabicas that would stand up to a dark roast and deliver the bold roasted notes and rich aromatics you expect from an intense iced coffee. ICE INTENSO gets a split roast. Both roasts are medium-dark to bring out the fruity notes and keep some of the coffees’ sweetness intact.
