RECYCLING

Recycling of coffee capsules

Nespresso has embarked on the journey towards a 100% recycling capacity for used capsules. We have established several recycling points where your capsules can be returned:

•  Nespresso Boutiques (Oslo, Sandvika, Strømmen, Ski, Bergen, Stavanger          and Trondheim).
•  9 Mini-recycling stations and 13 mobile-recycling points.
•  12 Post offices.

You can always find up to date information about the recycling points in our Nespresso App or .

Pick up service

Nespresso offers a pick up service for companies with a consumption of 2500 capsules or more per month. This limit is set based on circular economy considerations. If your company already has a return agreement in place with Norsk Gjenvinning or Norsk Makulering, we offer collection of used capsules for consumption below 2500 capsules. Each company that establishes a pick up service agreement with us will receive a certification document, stating that your company’s used Nespresso capsules are part of a life cycle system.

The cost of a return agreement falls on the customer. There will not be any additional cost if you already have a return agreement with Norsk Gjenvinning or Norsk Makulering.

We are happy to tailor our pick up service to suit your company’s needs.

What are the environmental effects?

In line with principles of a circular economy, every used capsule delivered to a Nespresso recycling point will be recycled.

Norsk Gjenvinning is our national logistical partner for handling used capsules. They separate the coffee grounds from the aluminum. The coffee grounds are delivered to Norsk Matretur at Lørenskog, where the coffee grounds are transformed into biogas used for fuel. The aluminum is delivered to Norsk Hydro where the capsules get a new life as, for example, a bicycle, a car bumper or a tin can.

Recycling generates less waste and
is good for the environment!
