Since the launch of our recycling programme in 1991, we began the journey towards a broader circular model, designed to waste less and use materials longer. As we seek a continued commitment to the values of B Corp™, this ambition will grow with us. From portioned consumption to refurbished coffee machines.

EVERYTHING FOR RECYCLING

For the past 30 years, we have been striving together to give new life to the aluminium and used coffee grounds in our capsules. Today, 9 out of 10 customers within a 5 km radius have a collection point for recycling. This is just the beginning, as we use more recycled material and expand our recycling system by investing in the collective system.

Our contribution

To make recycling easier and more convenient, we have created more than 100,000 collection points worldwide, including home collection and postal collection points. This way, your coffee grounds can be converted into renewable energy sources and your capsules become new aluminium objects.

Home compostable coffee capsules

New from Nespresso, for your original machine

After years of development, Nespresso has developed a new paper-based capsule that can be composted at home. The capsule is made of 82% paper pulp and the remaining 18% consists of a thin biodegradable interior made of biopolymer that functions as an oxygen-protecting barrier. This combination helps protect the freshness and aromas of the ground coffee in the capsule.
