IMPORTANT: No coffee has possibly been prepared in the last few months, so we are bringing you some tips for the proper and safe return of your operations with the Nespresso coffee machine.
1: REMOVE AND EMPTY WATER AND COLLECTION TANKS
- Leave the machine off for the cleaning process..
- Remove and empty the water tank, drip tray and capsule tank.
2: CLEANING PROCESS
- Rinse the water tank thoroughly with water only.
- Fill the water tank and put it back in the machine.
- Turn the machine on again.
3: CLEAN THE COFFEE OUTPUT NOZZLES
- When the machine is ready, place a glass under the water / coffee outlet and press the 'lungo' button (without capsule in the capsule holder).
- Repeat this step 5 times to clean the coffee spout with hot water.
- After that, the machine is ready to use!

- Wash the water reservoirs well, removing any waste deposited over time
2: REMOVE AND EMPTY THE COLLECTION TANKS
- EEmpty the capsule shells
- Empty the collection tanks
- Fill the water tanks and put them back in the machine
- Turn the machine on again.
3: CLEAN THE COFFEE OUTPUT NOZZLES
- When the machine is ready, place a cup under each spout and press the 'lungo' button (no capsule in the capsule holder)
- Repeat this step 5 times for each coffee spout
- After that, the machine is ready for use

Is your machine also equipped with the milk tank? If so, follow the steps below:
4: STEAM FROM THE MILK SYSTEM
- Make sure the machine is turned off
- Remove the milk container and the spout. You can recognize the nozzle by the orange rings and it can be released by rotating to the left
- Clean the milk container and put it back in the machine. The milk container is suitable for the dishwasher
- Turn the machine on and let the milk system continue to steam with the flow button on the front
- Clean and completely replace the nozzle

1: REMOVE AND EMPTY ALL COLLECTION TANKS
- Turn on the machine (button at the bottom)
- Empty the capsule shells
- Press the cleaning button (hold for 3 seconds)
- Clean the level and suction tube with a tissue. Once this is done, press any button
- Remove the milk container and rinse well with clean water
- Remove the cleaning key and insert two cleaning tablets
- Insert the cleaning key. The automatic cleaning cycle will start.
2: CLEANING PROCESS
- The cleaning process takes approximately 28 minutes (AG220) and 23 minutes (AG440) to complete. All buttons light up in red.
- After the cleaning process, the machine switches to the maximum energy saving mode.
- After cleaning, clean the level and suction tube using a tissue or disposable cloth. Be careful not to reuse the same cloth many times as it can cause bacterial contamination in the milk.
- Empty the remaining water, wash the milk container with drinking water and replace it.
3: CLEAN THE COFFEE OUTPUT NOZZLES
- Remove the two coffee spouts. Wash the coffee spouts carefully with fresh drinking water.
- Clean the milk spouts with a tissue or damp disposable cloth.
- Remove the drip grid and wash all parts thoroughly.
Belangrijk: is er de afgelopen vier weken geen koffie bereid én is de machine voorzien van een filter in het waterreservoir? Dan is het noodzakelijk dat je de filter verwijderd, weggooit en een nieuwe filter besteld. Er kan gerust koffie worden bereid zonder waterfilter in het waterreservoir. Daarnaast moet de machine grondig worden gespoeld. Volg hiervoor onderstaande stappen.
1: Verwijder en leeg het waterreservoir
- Zet de machine aan
- Leeg het waterreservoir. Indien er een filter in het waterreservoir zit, dien je deze ook uit het waterreservoir te verwijderen. Er kan gerust koffie worden bereid zonder waterfilter in het waterreservoir, totdat je een nieuwe filter hebt geïnstalleerd
- Spoel het waterreservoir schoon. Indien er sprake is van alg vorming in het waterreservoir is het belangrijk het reservoir met afwasmiddel te reinigen
2: Verwijder en leeg alle opvangreservoirs
- Leeg de capsulereservoirs
- Leeg het opvangreservoir
- Vul het waterreservoir en plaats deze terug in de machine. Zet de machine weer aan.
3: Reinig koffie-uitlopen
- Als de machine klaar is (met spoelen) plaats je een kopje onder iedere uitloop en druk je op de ‘lungo’ knop (icoon) zonder capsule in de capsulehouder
- Herhaal deze stap 5 keer, voor elke koffie-uitloop
- Hierna is de machine klaar voor gebruik
