Our sustainability program promotes gender equality in many communities around the world.

Initially, the program focused primarily on the dissemination of practices and techniques to improve coffee quality, sustainability and production volume. However, over time we realized that the training and integration of women in leadership and supervision tasks was not only highly efficient, but also contributed to gender equality, particularly in rural communities.
It was then that we made the decision to proactively support women, incorporating them more and more into our programs and empowering them with knowledge and concrete incentives according to the scope of goals and objectives.

"It was then that we made the decision to proactively support women"

Her commitment to Nespresso's AAA ™ Program to improve coffee quality and care for the environment

Women who make a difference with their work, with their character and with their unwavering will to stand out, positively impacting everything they do and everything that surrounds them.
In Mexico there are many women who are examples of this. Among them stands out Pastora Caballero , an exceptional producer whose leadership, history and personal improvement are worthy of recognition.

On her farm and in her community, Pastora Caballero makes the difference.

Pastora is a strong woman with a robust character like her coffee, forged at more than 700 meters high, where she owns a coffee farm in the community of Tepatlaxco, Veracruz.

"Pastora has significantly improved her production, using the support of our technical advisors and new technologies"

During the 2 years that our program has been implemented in its locality, Pastora has significantly improved her production, using the support of our technical advisors and the new technologies shared in terms of nutrition and coffee management.

She has managed to minimize the use of agrochemicals, using instead live barriers such as corn in the conservation of soils and adopted new practices in terms of undergrowth control.

Today, Pastora has taken a leadership role in her community, sharing among her neighbors "best practices" such as the correct selection of ripe cherries or the use of correct protective equipment by workers.

Now many of these practices have been adopted in a large part of their community and have even been taken to local schools, so that children become aware of the importance of these actions.

Nespresso and Mexican coffee.

Proudly Mexican Veracruz coffee, is present in our master mixes.

As with Pastora Caballero, Nespresso collaborates with more than 200 coffee plantations in Tepatlaxco, Veracruz. A region with very peculiar geographical and climatological conditions, which translates into a robust variety of coffee with unique expressions.

The cherries of these coffee trees grown between 700 and 1000 meters high, produce very large grains of soft and elegant aromatic notes, being an irreplaceable ingredient in the preparation of two of our most renowned creations: ENVIVO Lungo and ROMA.
