Why we love it:
Try Intenso - a Vertuo coffee that’s dense and dark as night but glowing with golden brown sugar notes. It’s a blend of Guatemalan washed Robusta coffee beans and Latin American Arabica. It’s thick with roasted notes and has a lingering finish. We split roast the Nespresso Intenso blend. The Arabicas get a darker roast to lower the acidity and bring out that brown sugar aroma. The Guatemalan coffee gets a longer roast to develop the Robusta coffee beans’ bold and bitter notes. It’s an intense long black with a distinctly lingering aftertaste and a thick coffee crema.
Our Guatemalan washed Robusta is an uncommon find. Traditionally, farmers only process their Arabica coffees this meticulously. This washed Robusta is high-grown and processed with the same care that farmers give to their washed Arabica - it gives its bold character a clean, elegant taste. We chose Costa Rican washed Arabica for its characteristic malty notes that add a sweet, refined touch to this intense long black Vertuo coffee pod.

The Guatemalan coffee gets a longer roast - it develops the Robusta coffee beans’ bold and bitter notes. The split roast and specific grind give Alto Intenso its lingering aftertaste.
The washed Guatemalan Robusta’s dry wood and dark caramel notes are the pillar of strength in this Vertuo coffee. Sweet malty notes refine the boldness and strike a compelling harmony - these more delicate Costa Rican Arabica aromatics sing through the lingering bitterness and thick crema of the uncommonly refined Robusta.
