Why we love it:
This is Alto Dolce - three Latin American Arabicas blended into one mild coffee capsule. The three coffees’ aromatics are elegantly balanced. A lighter roast of Costa Rican and South American Arabicas brings soft caramel notes to the blend. A slightly darker roast of the Colombian coffee develops toasted bread notes that bring balance. These warming aromas are Alto Dolce’s open arms - and in the Alto size, it’s a long embrace. With milk, Alto Dolce’s sweet caramel notes surface all the more.
We like high-grown, wet processed Colombian coffees for their aromatic finesse. The Arabica beans from mountainous Cundinamarca that go into the Alto Dolce Vertuo coffee pod bring a sugar cane sweetness to the blend. For their sweet cereal note we add Costa Rican coffee and South American Arabicas to this Vertuo coffee capsule. The three coffees work together in a poised balance. Don’t let fast and snappy Latin dancing fool you - these Latin coffees are the epitome of mild and smooth.
Split roasting the coffees in this mild coffee capsule means we can use a slightly darker roast to develop the toasted bread notes in the Colombian. But you still get the soft caramel notes from the Costa Rican and South American coffees from the lighter roast. A medium extraction of this Vertuo coffee keeps Alto Dolce mild - the slowing flow towards the end looks after the body - gives it a good coffee crema - and keeps things in balance.
Alto Dolce Vertuo coffee is soft and mellow because of its mildly roasted pure Arabica coffees from Latin America. Soft caramel and toasted bread notes give this long black coffee a comforting smooth and round taste.
