Behind the scenes, Centrifusion™ extraction technology is used, which recognises each capsule and adjusts the settings accordingly to brew a perfectly styled coffee. With Original you can also enjoy the smooth and authentic flavour of your coffee
, from Ristretto, Espresso or Lungo, to Americano or recipes with milk. The Original machines use a high pressure (19 bar) extraction system to release the fresh aromas from each capsule.

Try making a wide range of recipes for white coffee, as well as cappuccinos and lattes using the Aeroccino or the built-in One Touch system.

You can prepare your short or long coffee with a smooth and generous cream with precision, since all Vertuo machines use barcode recognition and an extraction system so you can enjoy your coffee experience. The unique barcode on each capsule allows you to precisely adjust the flow and volume of the water, the temperature, the infusion time and the rotation of the capsule to offer you an optimal experience: a perfect coffee, cup after cup.

All Nespresso capsules are made of aluminium and can be recycled. Take your used capsules to one of our recycling points, drop them off at your Nespresso Boutique or at the nearest waste collection point. If you make capsule cycling part of your coffee ritual, your coffee will not only taste good, it will also make you feel good.

Several scientific studies indicate that an intake of 300 to 400 mg of caffeine per day, regardless of its origin, causes no adverse effects on the health of healthy adults.

In terms of cups, these 300-400 mg of caffeine represent about 4-5 cups of coffee from the Nespresso Original range, or between 2 and 5 cups of coffee from the Vertuo range, a figure that may vary depending on the blend.

Meanwhile, the official recommendations for pregnant and breastfeeding women are the following:

reduce caffeine intake to 200-300 mg per day,

which is equivalent to 3 or 4 cups of Nespresso Original coffees a day, or between 1 and 4 cups of Vertuo coffees.

Our experts have designed a finely tuned recipe that achieves perfect harmony in the final drink, offering freshness and complex aromas. The recipe is very simple and has two variants: black or with milk.

— Black: 90 g of ice cubes + 40 ml of coffee + 90 ml of cold water

- White: 90 g of ice cubes + 40 ml of coffee + 90 ml of cold milk foam
