In March 2007 the baker Guillaume Petitgas and his wife Thaís Melo opened La Boulangerie, adding a little bit of France to Brasilia.
At La Boulangerie, the main artist is the bread, which shares the scene with other pastries. Madeleines blend with baguettes, croissants, brioches, whole bread, with olives or cereals and the famous bread-of-the-month. Each month, a different type of bread is born out of Guillaume's creativity to tempt the most varied palates. The bread at La Boulangerie is always fresh and is made on the day. Produced naturally, bromate and other kinds of chemical agents are never used. High-quality ingredients are Boulanger Guillaume's Petitgas' secret to baking the most delicious breads in town.
