When blended correctly, flavoured coffee offers delicious, exciting and indulgent ways to enjoy coffee moments. But which flavours work well together? And which recipes and flavours taste best? Read on to find out.

Coffee and milky recipes: the perfect match

We know that most coffee drinkers in Australia enjoy a milky coffee. We also know that milk can enhance coffee by adding a new layer of flavour and texture to your cup . That’s why our team of experts embarked on a journey of exploring coffee and milk interactions to create a delicious range of flavoured coffee to be enjoyed with milk.

Our Barista Creations range celebrates bold flavours and indulgent aromas. Each creation has been developed for its unique alchemy with milk. From a small cortado to larger cappuccinos, a variety of recipes can be created from each of the coffees within the range.

Available in both Original and Vertuo capsule systems, there’s a blend for every preference.

Choosing flavoured coffee

Selecting the perfect flavours for our coffee was no easy feat. Coffee was sourced from 18 different origins, around 20,000 cappuccinos were tested and over 120 coffee prototypes were made in the production of our Barista Creations range.

Our experts conducted sophisticated trials, pushed the boundaries of roasting and grinding and left no stone unturned so that you can be sure that every coffee will be exceptional.

But like all things in life, choosing your favourite flavour will come down to your own personal preference. We’ve covered some of the world’s favourite treats as inspiration so you can enjoy sweet milky moments at home including Vanilla Custard, Crème Brulee, Cocoa Truffle and Vanilla Éclair.

How our flavoured coffee is made

Flavoured Coffee Creation

No two blends are the same. Each has its own origin(s), tasting profile, and techniques used in the growing, harvesting and roasting stages. Because of this, each coffee is different in terms of taste and aroma.

Crème Brulee

The base blend for this flavoured coffee is made up of some of South America’s finest Arabicas. Blended Brazilian Bourbon beans are washed with Colombian coffee and then split roasted. This is where the roast develops its smooth texture and rounded result. Then we add the caramel flavour to bring this tasty treat to the next level.

Cocoa truffle

In this Arabica coffee blend, the finest South American coffees come together. A split roast creates an incredibly smooth and rounded espresso and a cocoa flavour is added to round out the blend and create a rich, velvety taste.

Caramel Cookie

Caramel Cookie is a caramel flavoured coffee, but it all starts with the base coffee blend of Latin American and African Arabicas. We split roast the coffees in this blend – it develops the beans to deliver an incredibly rounded coffee with a soft biscuit note. To this we add caramel flavour, which gives it a buttery biscuit note that’ll take you back to your childhood days.

Vanilla Custard Pie

Vanilla flavour eases effortlessly into smooth Latin American and African Arabicas. We split roast the coffees in this blend which develops the beans to deliver an incredibly rounded coffee with a soft biscuit note. When we add in the creamy vanilla flavour, it creates a silky, smooth-textured coffee.

Recipes that make the most of your flavoured coffee

We want to make sure that you make the most of your coffee. That’s why our coffee experts have created a dedicated collection of recipes to complement each and every Barista Creations Flavoured coffee. Here are some of our favourites.

Caramel Cookie Reverso

Caramel Cookie Reverso

Ingredients:

  • 1 capsule of Barista Creations Caramel Cookie
  • Milk of your choice
  • Caramel syrup

Method:

  • Select your capsule and extract using the small cup (espresso) button on your machine.
  • Using your Nespresso milk device, froth your milk.
  • Pour the hot frothed milk over the espresso and top with 1 cm of froth.
  • For a little extra indulgence add 5ml of caramel syrup and stir.

Caramel Latte featuring Barista Creations Caramel Crème Brulee

Caramel flavoured latte

Ingredients:

  • 1 Caramel Crème Brulee capsule
  • Milk
  • Caramel syrup if desired

Method:

  1. Select your capsule and extract using the small cup (espresso) button on your machine.
  2. Using your Nespresso milk device, froth your milk.
  3. Pour the hot frothed milk over the espresso and top with 1 cm of froth.
  4. For a little extra indulgence add 5ml of caramel syrup and stir.

Dolce Truffle Cappucino with Cocoa Truffle

Dolce Truffle Cappuccino recipe

Ingredients:

  • 10g Dulce De Leche
  • 1 square of dark chocolate
  • 100ml 1.5% milk
  • 25ml Cocoa Truffle

Method:

  1. Pour 100 ml of 1.5% milk directly into the Nespresso Barista device.
  2. Close the lid, select the “Cappuccino” recipe on the device and press the start button.
  3. In a cappuccino cup pour 10g of Dulce de Leche.
  4. Pour the foam of hot milk into the View Cappuccino glass and extract 25ml of Cocoa Truffle on the top.
  5. Grate a square of Nespresso dark chocolate or sprinkle 1tsp of cocoa powder on the milk foam.

 

Vanilla Custard Pie with Vanilla Custard

Vanilla Custard Pie Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 200ml milk
  • 1 sprig of lavender flowers
  • 10 ml of lavender syrup
  • 230ml vanilla custard pie

Method:

  1. Pour 200ml of 1.5% fat milk directly into the Nespresso Barista device and add 10ml of lavender syrup.
  2. Close the lid, select the “Flat White” recipe on the device and press the start button.
  3. In a Large Recipe Glass, extract 230ml of Vanilla Custard Pie.
  4. Pour the hot milk foam on the top.
