Each of the Nespresso decaffeinated blends has its own character, intensity, texture and aromas. Whether you select an espresso or lungo decaffeinated blend, or indeed choose to enjoy them in milk-based recipes, such as cappuccino, you will experience the range of flavours that these coffees possess.  
DECAFFEINATO INTENSO Strength: 7     
Intense and strong in character
An intense, rich taste with slightly elevated acidity gives this decaffeinated coffee all the strength of a true espresso. Perfect in an Espresso cup, Decaffeinato Intenso is also ideal for preparing recipes such as cappuccino or cafe latte.
Origin: This blend largely comprises Latin American Arabicas which bring the blend together, and a touch of Robusta to sustain body and character.
Roasting: Strong
Aromatic notes: Its grilled and chocolate notes are perfectly supported by intense body. There is a noticeable aromatic richness in both the crema and the coffee.
DECAFFEINATO Strength: 2     
Light AND delicate
This is the lighter and creamier decaffeinated blend, offering a rich and delicate balance between mildness and acidity. Decaffeinato's crema is distinguished by its hazelnut colour and consistent texture in the mouth.
Origin: This blend is a combination of different South American Arabicas that individually give it both acidity and balance. Robusta is added to heighten its character.
Roasting: Medium
Aromatic notes: Notes of red fruits typical of harmonious flavours found in certain wines. Sweetened with a hint of dried fruit and a touch of dairy butter.
DECAFFEINATO LUNGO Strength: 5     
Smooth and rounded – best enjoyed in a larger cup
Decaffeinato Lungo has a consistent body and a delicious texture on the palate. Its slow and consistent roasting reveals a delicious roasted flavour.
Origin: This blend is a combination of the finest Latin American Arabicas (from Brazil and Colombia), which provide balance, and Robusta, which enhances its character.
Roasting: Strong
Aromatic notes: Strong roasted notes.

Natural decaffeination which maintains the coffee's aromas
Nespresso uses a natural "water-based" decaffeination process, which is free from chemical additives – this process involves dissolving the caffeine, but without altering the strength and distinction of the coffee's aromas.
Developed to the same high standards of perfection as the other Premium Blends, Nespresso guarantees excellence throughout the production process of the decaffeinated coffees – from selecting the finest beans, to blending, roasting and finally packaging the coffee. Did you know?
The process of preparing traditional espresso, rapidly extracted under high pressure, produces lower caffeine levels than filter coffee. This is because the longer it takes for the water to flow through the ground coffee, the more caffeine passes into the cup.
