Roma cappuccino & gingerbread men


SERVES 6 (APPROX 20 GINGERBREAD MEN)

PREPARATION TIME : 20 min. COOKING TIME : 10 min. COOLING TIME : 30 min.

INGREDIENTS : 6 Roma capsules (6x40 ml).

For the gingerbread men : 125 g (4.5 oz) soft butter - 90 g (3 oz) brown sugar – 2 tablespoons of honey – 1 egg – 350 g (12 oz) flour – 2 pinches of salt – 1 tablespoon of powdered ginger – 1 teaspoon of cinnamon – 1 teaspoon of Mixed Spices. To decorate : sugar sprinkles.

Mix the butter, brown sugar and honey. While still mixing add the egg, then the flour, salt and spices. Make a ball of dough and leave in the fridge for at least 30 min. Pre-heat the oven to 180 °C (gas mark 6). Roll the mixture out onto a floured worktop and cut out the shapes using either a pastry cutter or a knife. Decorate with sugar spinkles. Bake for approx 10 min. on a baking tray covered with a sheet of greaseproof paper. Leave to cool on a wire rack.Serve with a Roma* Grand Cru Cappuccino.
