Nespresso and the event
An enchanting setting, nestled amongst the Swiss Alps, which gaze down upon the best golfers in the planet.
The Omega European Masters, which unfolds this year between the 2nd and the 5th September, is an essential part of the PGA circuit. This competition is in effect decisive as it constitutes the first qualifying tournament for the Ryder Cup, the international tournament held every two years which pits the best European and American golfers against each other.
The tournament has been organised for 22 years by the spirited Yves Mittaz, who has always lived up to his promises. The course dreamt up by the mythical Spanish golfer Severiano Ballesteros offers the players wide fairways and greens which are particularly difficult to negotiate.
Ballesteros, is a name forever linked to the European Masters in Crans-Montana, since 'Seve' won the tournament three times, the first of which was in 1977 at only 20 years old. Other great players of the small white ball are equally entrenched in the memories of Crans-Montana, like Nick Faldo (1983), José Maria Olazabal (1986), Colin Montgomerie (1996), Ernie Els (2003), Luke Donald (2004) or even Sergio Garcia (2005). Nespresso has been happy to be associated with this prestigious tournament, providing the official coffee for close to 20 years.
