Behind the scenes at the 2008 Nespresso Design Contest

1500 students registered...334 submitted projects...60,000 website visitors...26,000 euros in prizes... These figures provide a nice point of departure for this behind-the-scenes look at the 2008 Nespresso Design Contest. The film moves on to the number 2, as in the two words (COFFEE and LUXURY) that provided the theme (COFFEELUXURY) for this year's contest. And from there we get to 3, because luxury is about three words: QUALITY QUALITY QUALITY. Of course, as one of the members of this year's jury points out, "luxury" is also about "freedom, or independence." Which serves to remind us that luxury is one of those things that really can't be measured in numbers.
