AAA: coffee cultivation in harmony with ecosystems

The LCA shows that coffee cultivation has an important impact on the carbon footprint of a cup of Nespresso coffee. Nespresso is helping farmers improve their environmental impact.


Supporting coffee farmers to become more environmentally responsible is one of the three fundamental principles of the AAA Sustainable Quality™ Program. Together with the Rainforest Alliance, we are working with farmers on the program to promote water conservation, planting shade trees for a better quality, ecosystem and wildlife preservation. With training and technical assistance from our agronomists and partners, the AAA program helps farmers find the right balance in managing water, soil, biodiversity and fertilisation, while increasing farm productivity and protecting the supply of the highest quality coffee.
