Established in 1956, The International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank, promotes sustainable private sector investment in developing countries as a way to reduce poverty and improve people's lives.

Since 2006, Nespresso has been working in partnership with the IFC and ECOM - a green coffee supplier - to help farmers improve their farming practices in relationship to quality, productivity, and sustainability. As a pilot programme, Nespresso, and IFC contributed a total of US$500,000 over two years to expand the Nespresso AAA Sustainable Quality™ Coffee Program in Central America.
